The Mid Autumn Festival is full of moonlight, and the Medicine Buddha is here in September.

The moonlight shines through the darkness, and the pharmacist's compassionate light heals many illnesses. Our temple solemnly holds the "Moonlight Coolness Reflecting on Medicine Buddha" series of ceremonies from the 15th of the eighth lunar month to the 30th of the ninth lunar month (October 6th to November 19th), with the opening ceremony of the Moonlight Bodhisattva Christmas and the completion of the Medicine Buddha Christmas. We sincerely invite believers from all over to come to the dojo together, to bask in the Buddha's light and pray for health with the unique fate of "one person, one lamp, one tablet, and one vision".

Cool Opening of the Curtain · Offering Lights to Worship the Moon

August 15th

Thousand lanterns reflecting the moon on the glass

The ceremony will be held on the night of the full moon during the Mid Autumn Festival, and on the Christmas day of Moonlight Bodhisattva.

A solemn and magnificent ceremony of offering lanterns and worshiping the moon opened the prelude to the purification of the Medicine Buddha sect.

At the beginning of dusk, thousands of lights in front of the the Shakya ManiHall are bright, and the moon is shining in the sky.

As the attendant of Medicine Buddha, Moonlight Bodhisattva's cool and bright light is in line with Medicine Buddha's twelve major wishes. Offering lamps to Buddha that night is not only a blessing, but also a beacon of wisdom that illuminates everyone's inner world, illuminating the afflictions of ignorance. May the pharmacist's compassionate light illuminate, the moonlight cool and cleanse away impurities, and relieve the physical and mental suffering of all sentient beings.

Part 02

Practice and accumulation of learning and practice

August 16th to September 22nd

(October 7th to November 11th)

During the 36 day learning and practice phase, the belief will be implemented in practice, guiding the four disciples to practice the profound connotation of the pharmacist method of benefiting oneself and others.

Every morning, the sound of chanting in the Medicine Buddha Altar of the temple rises loudly. The two groups of monks and laypeople practice the Medicine Buddha Sutra and recite the Medicine Buddha Mantra together every day, offering pure sounds to the Buddhas and praying for the Medicine Buddha's compassionate light to shine everywhere and relieve the suffering of all sentient beings. At this stage of cultivation, it is not limited to the walls of the temple, but also builds a two-way collaborative network of "temple home" practice. Followers can practice at home simultaneously, reciting mantras seven times in the morning and calmly copying one vow from the "Twelve Great Vows" at dusk, integrating their practice into daily life and deeply experiencing the grand vow of the Medicine Buddha to "relieve suffering and bring joy".

What is particularly remarkable is that the Dharma Society cleverly combines personal cultivation with serving society, truly achieving the sublimation from "self-interest" to "altruism". In addition to reciting sutras and holding mantras together, and organizing activities to protect the lives of animals, a special organization called "Cool Free Clinic" is also organized to provide health services for the elderly and tourists in the surrounding area, effectively delivering the compassionate care advocated by Buddhism to the people and spreading the mindfulness of "health starts from the heart".

At present, the practice of the Law Society is proceeding in an orderly manner, and the atmosphere is becoming increasingly strong. The temple cordially invites believers from all directions, or those who visit the temple in person, to join the current of communal practice; Or stay at home and work hard at the same time. Let us take this stage as a good opportunity to purify our body and mind, accumulate abundant resources, and work together towards the perfect moment of Medicine Buddha's birthday, striving tirelessly.

Pharmacist Association · Seven day Specialized Course

September 23rd to 29th

(November 12-18)

Establish a seven day intensive meditation program, starting from 5:20 am every day, to enrich the practice of reciting scriptures, holding mantras, fasting in eight stages, Buddhist lectures, pharmacist tea parties, health exercises, etc., to help people delve into the sea of pharmacist wishes and purify their body and mind.

Buddha's Birthday Fulfillment · Holding the Return

September 30th

(November 19th)

All day long, coinciding with Medicine Buddha's Christmas. Through this extraordinary merit, we hope that all sentient beings will achieve worldly peace and ultimate liberation.
